It’s particularly useful if you frequently suffer from itchy, tired eyes, or if you just want to be more proactive in looking after your eye health. It can be great for hayfever season too.

A long-established optical care expert, Optrex has more than 70 years of experience in creating quality eye products, so you can trust it will help you take the right steps to look after your eyes.

In every Optrex eye wash pack, there is a Flexiseal eye bath included which is designed to fit comfortably against the eye and help prevent leakage.

What’s the problem?

If you’ve ever experienced tired or strained eyes, you’re not alone. An increasing number of us are suffering from the same symptoms, and there could be several reasons why. Here are a few common triggers...

Screens
Just like any other muscle in your body, the muscles around your eyes get tired after long periods of use, so staring at screens without frequent breaks could lead to tired eyes, headaches and difficulty concentrating.

Optrex’s Eye Wash contains glycerin, an ingredient that helps to moisturise your eyes and alleviate those feelings of dryness and tiredness. Other ways you can help to relieve screen fatigue is by following the 20-20-20 rule: look up from your screen every 20 minutes and focus on something that’s 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Dust
Dust, dirt and pollen are hard to avoid, especially if you enjoy spending time outdoors. But when particles get caught in your eye, it can cause irritation that could leave you feeling uncomfortable – almost as if you have something gritty trapped there.

Thankfully, Optrex’s Eye Wash provides a possible solution – it helps to cleanse your eyes, relieving that unwelcome gritty sensation by removing any build-up and leaving your eyes feeling refreshed.

Central heating
In the colder months we rely on our central heating systems to keep us warm, but this can dry out your eyes, causing them to feel tired. Similarly, air conditioning systems, such as the ones found in offices and on public transport, can have a drying effect on your eyes if you’re exposed to them for a sustained period.

Again, using Optrex’s Eye Wash at the end of each day could help to soothe your eyes by replenishing their natural moisture barrier, leaving you feeling refreshed.

How to use Optrex’s Eye Wash

It’s simple to use Optrex’s Eye Wash – just follow these three, quick and easy steps:

1. Fill

Fill the included eye bath with the eye wash until it’s about a third full. Bend your head slightly forward, holding eye bath by its base.

2. Wash

Place the eye bath over your eye. Slowly raise your head, opening your eye so the solution flows freely over it. Gently rock your head from side to side for at least 30 seconds.

3. Repeat

Discard the eye wash, then repeat steps one and two for your other eye.
