Lawson's Birding, Wildlife Safaris, and Custom Safaris started out in 1990 with some of the first dedicated birding safaris to South Africa, in the process pioneering some of the now popular birding routes and stakeouts. Since then we've grown into a specialised birding and wildlife safari company, offering first-class birding and wildlife trips to a range of countries in Southern and Eastern Africa. Our range of set-departures cater for both the casual birder and the more enthusiastic 'lister', as well as the general natural history enthusiast. Benro Tripods helping progress your wildlife photography. View our professional range of tripods, heads and bags: www.benroeu.com. Learn how to take stunning wildlife photography with Tesni Ward: www.tesniward.co.uk. "I personally use the Benro C3780TN combination tripod with the GH2C gimbal head. Photographing wildlife usually requires specialist and slightly heavier equipment, and you're often left waiting for extended periods of time for a mere glimpse of the animal, so being able to use a tripod designed specifically for this can really help to maximise the potential for getting great images in all conditions." - Tesni Ward, professional wildlife photographer.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust is the only voluntary organisation devoted solely to the conservation of the wildlife and wildplaces of Cumbria. The Trust stands up for wildlife, creates wildlife havens, and seeks to raise environmental awareness. Formed in 1962 and supported by thousands of members and supporters, the Trust cares for over 40 nature reserves (37 are open to visitors), campaigns for the protection of endangered habitats and species such as limestone pavements and red squirrels, and works with adults and children to discover the importance of the natural world. South Walney Nature Reserve is home to the only grey seal colony in Cumbria. Other wildlife highlights here include the huge numbers of waders and wildfowl that feed and roost around the nature reserve in winter, and breeding eider duck, great black-backed gull, shelduck, oystercatcher and little tern frequent the reserve. South Walney Nature Reserve is open daily 10am to 5pm (4pm in winter). The reserve gate is closed and locked shortly after closing time. During very high tides (9.86m and above) or when there are strong winds, the road to/from the reserve can be cut off for a period of time.
