Baking dishes

From deliciously cheesy lasagnes to hearty slow-cooked casseroles, baking dish recipes are ideal for entertaining. But sometimes the satisfaction of hosting a big meal for your family and friends can dissipate slightly when you have to spend time scrubbing the burnt edges off your dish afterwards.

Of course, this is where Finish Ultimate Plus can help, as it's formulated to tackle burnt-on stains without the need for pre-rinsing. Just scrape off any remaining food, then pop your baking dish in the bottom rack of your dishwasher, and let Finish do the hard work for you!

Glasses

Drinking glasses are one of the most frequently washed items in any kitchen, but sometimes all that washing can make them start to go cloudy. To avoid this, load them on the top rack away from other dishes, and make sure to use Finish Rinse & Shine Aid and Finish Dishwasher Salt, along with your Finish dishwasher tablets, so they come out sparkling every time.

You can also clean wine glasses in your dishwasher, but you may have to lower the top rack to make space. Try to position them so they’re not touching, as this can cause them to knock together and crack while they’re being washed. And use a glassware setting if you have one, as the lower temperature and gentler jets are ideal for washing wine glasses.

Pots and pans

If you’ve spent hours cooking dinner, it can be tempting to just throw all your pots and pans in the dishwasher, as they’re often one of the most time-consuming dishes to wash up. But it’s particularly important to look for a dishwasher-safe label on them, as they vary depending on the material. Finish also recommends using Finish Rinse & Shine Aid to help prevent spots and streaks from forming on your non-stick or metal kitchenware.

When it comes to loading, always remove any solid scraps of food from your pans, then rest them on their side or upside down on the bottom rack. To wash them, you can either use a specific pots and pans cycle if you have one, or simply opt for the eco cycle to help your Finish dishwasher tablets to fully blitz any baked-on stains.

Cutlery

Like glasses, your cutlery will need washing on a daily basis – and while Finish dishwasher tablets will help to maintain its shine, it also helps if you load your cutlery basket correctly. It’s always best to place forks and knives upside down to prevent accidents, but your spoons can go in handle first if you’re short on space, as this will allow the water to circulate more easily.

Meanwhile, larger utensils, such as tongs, serving spoons and bread knives, are best placed on the top shelf. You might already know that dishwashers can blunt knives over time, so it’s often best to handwash your more expensive knives or any others that you want to keep particularly sharp.

Keep both your dishes and dishwasher squeaky clean with Finish.
