Step 1

San the house panel and triangle base templates into your ScanNCut machine using the scanning mat, selecting ‘scan to cut’. Load the cutting mat and cut the house and two triangle bases from purple card. Lift from the mat and remove the waste pieces. Cut two more panels from purple card but this time as solid panels with no cut outs.

Step 2

Cut a piece of plain vellum that will cover the back of the windows and door of the haunted house, as shown. Use a pencil to carefully trace the area. Using a yellow ink pad and sponge applicator, apply ink to the traced area and set aside to dry. When the vellum is completely dry, add more ink to build up the colour as desired.

Step 3

Cut out and attached the yellow vellum panel behind the window apertures on the haunted house panel using strong double- sided tape. Cut a piece of plain vellum to fit inside the back of the haunted house panel and attach using strong double-sided tape, being careful to not have any tape showing through the vellum.

Step 4

Attach the haunted house panel to one side of the triangle base piece using strong double-sided tape. Attach so the triangle is on the top and the edge lines up with the score fold line on the panel. Attach the two plain panels in the same way, so all three panels are attached to the triangle base piece.

Step 5

Starting with the haunted house panel first, lay it face down and apply strong double-sided tape down both side tabs. Attach each to its neighbouring panel by securing the tabs on the outside of each panel, smoothing down to ensure it is adhered securely.

Step 6

Join the plain panels at the back, adding tape to one of the side tabs and securing it on the outside. To strengthen the base, add the other card triangle to the bottom. Add cut-out bats from the bats panel to the front and a couple inside. Pop a battery-operated candle inside for a glowing effect.
