For more than 20 years, BerryWorld has been on a mission to bring you responsibly farmed, sustainably packed, best-of-the-crop berries. The team works closely with a network of trusted growers both in the UK and overseas, to guarantee their products are always of the highest standard. In fact, since 1994, more than two million different varieties have been tried and tested, so you can be sure only the best make it into your fruit bowl.

While this means every berry promises to be delicious, there is one variety that steals the show – the kiwi berry.

As its name suggests, it’s a tiny kiwi about the size of a grape. Despite being a fraction of the size, they look and taste very similar to their larger cousin. But, whereas a kiwi fruit needs to be skinned and sliced before eating, the kiwi berry has no fuzzy skin, so you only have to give it a quick rinse before popping it in your mouth.

This small but mighty fruit makes for a great snack as not only is it hassle-free, but it’s also one of the highest-ranking superfoods available. They have a better ratio of vitamins..., so you only need to eat an 80g portion to get one of your five-a-day. What’s more, BerryWorld’s kiwi berries – grown exclusively by award-winning producer George Leeds and his sons Richard and Nicholas at Withers Farm, Hertfordshire – are so nutrient rich, one serving actually contains more vitamin C than an orange!

Kiwi berries in the kitchen

Kiwi berries are extremely versatile. Naturally sweet and low in calories, they’re ideal for eating on the go, adding to lunchboxes or as an alternative to sugary snacks. But, if you’re feeling more creative, you can also use them to add a fresh and zingy twist to a variety of your favourite meals and even drinks. Here are a few recommendations from the BerryWorld team.

Scatter a few halved kiwi berries over your granola, for a dose of vitamin C. Or, for added flavour, incorporate a handful into your favourite smoothie mix.

Kiwi berries are an ideal way to add a unique twist to your baking. Simply top your cakes, cupcakes or puddings with a few slices for decoration.

If savoury is more your style, kiwi berries are a tasty addition to both warm and cold salads. They pair well with salty cheeses like feta or goats’ cheese, adding a complementary burst of sweetness.
