Terms & conditions

  1. The Promoter is Immediate Media Company London Limited (Company no. 06189487).
  2. The BBC Code of Conduct for competitions can be found at https://www.bbc.com/editorialguidelines/guidance/code-of-conduct and all BBC magazines comply with the Code.
  3. The promotion is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands, aged 18 years or older, except the Promoter’s employees or contractors and anyone connected with the promotion or their direct family members.
  4. The closing date for entries is 23:59 on 31st October 2022.
  5. By entering the promotion, the participants agree:
    a) to be bound by these terms and conditions; and
    b) that should they win the promotion, their name and likeness may be used by the Promoter for pre-arranged promotional purposes.
  6. Entrants should enter by answering the question and completing the form on the competition page. Entries received after the closing date of the promotion will not be considered.
  7. Entrants must supply to Immediate Media Company Limited their full name and email address. The Promoter will use entrants’ personal details in accordance with the Immediate Privacy Policy.
  8. Only one entry will be permitted per person, regardless of method of entry. Bulk entries made by third parties will not be permitted.
  9. The prize consists of:
    a) Return economy flights for 2 people to Nantes. The prize also includes all flight taxes and surcharges, as well as one piece of checked baggage per two people. Subject to availability, departure airport used will be the winner’s nearest international airport that operates direct flights to Nantes. Please note, this may not be your closest airport. If you don’t hold a UK passport you may need a visa for this destination, and this should be arranged with the appropriate embassy. Although please note the cost of a visa of this kind is not included in the prize;
    b) Fully inclusive car hire for the duration of the stay. Drivers need to be over the age of 25 and have held a full clean driver’s licence for a minimum of 2 years. Fully inclusive refers to unlimited mileage, collision damage waiver, theft protection, local taxes and airport fees. The driver will need to provide the car hire company with a personal credit card that has £500 - £1,000 (variant depending on company) available for a security deposit that is refundable to your card upon the safe return of the vehicle;
    c) 4 nights accommodation at the 4 star Le Gree des Landes Eco Hotel for 2 people;
    d) Breakfast for 2 people in the hotel restaurants each morning;
    e) Three course dinner at the hotel’s Michelin restaurant for 2 people; and
    f) Travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may not be covered.
  10. The prize must be claimed and booked by the prize winner within 12 months from the date of the Promoter’s initial correspondence with them.
  11. The prize is subject to availability at the discretion of the prize supplier and excludes bank holidays, Valentine’s day/weekend and school holiday periods, specifically the Christmas holidays, summer holidays, spring and autumn half terms and Easter in both the UK and France.
  12. The winning entrant will be the first correct entry drawn at random from all the correct entries after the closing date. The Promoter’s decision as to the winner is final and no correspondence relating to the promotion will be entered into. The Promoter may share the winner’s details with the prize provider for the purpose of fulfilling the prize.
  13. The winner will be notified within 14 days of the close of the promotion by email. If the winner cannot be contacted or fails to respond within 28 days of such notification being sent, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future promotion.
  14. It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide correct and up-to-date details when entering the promotion and/or confirming acceptance of the prize in order for their prize to be processed. The Promoter will not be held responsible for the winner’s failure to supply accurate information which affects prize acceptance or delivery of the prize.
  15. The surname and county of residence of the winner will be available upon request by sending an SAE to BBC Good Food, Carte D’Or Competition, 44 Brook Green, London, W6 7BT within two months of the closing date of the promotion. The Promoter will contact the winner before releasing this information and provide the winner the opportunity to object or limit the amount of information shared.
  16. There is no cash alternative and the prize will not be transferable. The prize must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of the same or greater value.
  17. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the promotion at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
  18. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for lost, delayed or fraudulent entries.
  19. The Promoter excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant arising from his or her entry into the promotion or occurring to the winner and/or their guest arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.
  20. Due to the current ongoing situation with travel advice in relation to Covid-19, we would advise that you look at all the information available with regards to quarantine, vaccination, and testing requirements of the destination you are travelling to, before selecting your dates. To understand the risks in a country, including the latest COVID restrictions (including for entry), follow FCDO Travel Advice. You can find information online at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice. It is your responsibility to comply with any Covid-19 checks for entering France and upon returning to the UK. The Promotor and/or the prize provider will not be held responsible for the winner not having the correct travel documentation, test results, vaccine status or following any COVID-19 regulations.
  21. The promotion is subject to the laws of England.
