STRAIGHT OR SPRITZ

Enhance your Mionetto experience with these fabulous food pairings

The refreshing taste of Mionetto makes it a versatile choice when it comes to food. Whether you enjoy it straight or as part of a spritz, you’ll find plenty of dishes marry perfectly with this authentic Italian tipple.

Straight

If you’re enjoying a glass of Mionetto on its own, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to complementary snacks. Slices of herby focaccia bread work beautifully with the notes in the prosecco, as will other salty bites, such as olives and popcorn. If you’re pouring glasses of Mionetto at a dinner or garden party, serve it alongside rich, umami canapes – think mini quiches, frittatas and sushi. For something a little sweeter, try light sponge cakes and macarons.

Spritz

Mionetto is great for adding some sparkle to your favourite cocktails, and you’ll find it still works well with nibbles. A charcuterie board lined with the finest cured meats, aromatic cheeses, fruits, such as grapes and figs, and quality crackers or bread, is bound to impress your guests. For a quintessentially Italian experience though, try serving up a board of tramezzini. The finger sandwich’s continental cousin, these are small, triangle sandwiches made from white bread with the crusts removed. When it comes to fillings, the only limit is your imagination. Prosciutto, tuna and grilled vegetables are all popular choices.

Get your al fresco dinner off to the perfect start

So, you have the food and drinks sorted, now it’s time to share them with your family and friends – and what better way than with an al fresco dinner party? Good company and a quality spread will really set the tone, but there are other things you can do to make your gathering a real success.

  • Upgrade your seating: When you’re spending hours sat outside, you want your guests to feel comfortable, in which case a metal chair just won’t cut it. Instead, try to opt for wooden seats with cushions for added comfort.
  • Beat the chill: If you’re sitting out late into the evening, it’s likely the temperature will start to drop a bit. Having some blankets on standby for your guests is always a good idea. After all, why should you let a little cold ruin your fun?
  • Get creative: How you set your table can make a big impact on the ambience of your gathering. For summer vibes, why not take some inspiration from Mionetto’s heritage and opt for an Italian-themed setting? Arranging olive branches and foliage along the centre of the table will add a welcome touch of greenery, as will tucking some sprigs of herbs, such as rosemary, into guests’ napkins. Talking of napkins, striped ones will offer a more traditional aesthetic, then you can choose to keep it simple with rustic wooden crockery or embrace a bolder Italian style with heavily patterned plates and bowls.
  • Make sure you’re well-stocked: You don’t want your guests to leave feeling unsatisfied, so ensure you have enough food and drink in to keep them happy – and plenty of Mionetto, of course!
