This new six-part Sky original drama stars Trainspotting’s Robert Carlyle as the British prime minister, who is plunged into crisis by a national emergency. After a widespread power outage causes violence in the streets, no one out there is safe, and it’s his job to bring the country back from the brink before it’s too late. COBRA is a palpably thrilling and witty take on political drama, with humanity at its heart. It also stars Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), David Haig (Killing Eve), Marsha Thomason (White Collar) and Lucy Cohu (Broadchurch).

Adapted from Stephen King’s acclaimed novel, this irresistibly tense drama sees a beloved family man and Little League coach accused of brutally murdering a young boy from his small town. As he tries to make sense of all the conflicting evidence, how will this gripping story of justice play out?
4. The New Pope

John Malkovich captivates as Pope John Paul III in Paolo Sorrentino’s The New Pope. This Sky original picks up where 2016’s The Young Pope left off, with Pope Pius XIII, played by Jude Law, in a coma. John Paul (not based on the real-life figure) has been elected as Pius’s replacement, and has grand plans for the papacy, but what if Pius wakes up? With Sharon Stone and Marilyn Manson also appearing, this is sure to be one you can’t take your eyes off.
5. Westworld

This fantasy series earned 21 Emmy nods in 2018, thanks to its fascinating premise — a futuristic Western-themed amusement park where every human appetite can be indulged by eerily human-like automatons. But later on, as new worlds are explored and the robots begin malfunctioning, the tables turn and all hell breaks loose. Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton star in this dark odyssey.
