I’m Victoria, the creator behind @thisenglishhome on IG and TikTok. I’m 35, a new mum and live in the South West with my husband, three dogs and a very sleepy cat. I started my page when our last house sale fell through on moving day. Desperate to resell, I gave myself a super small budget and a goal to transform as much as I could. Noticing how few female DIYers were online, I recorded my journey, hoping to encourage others.
Five years on, what started as a way to deal with a stressful situation has flourished into a community and a career. It’s still just me, learning as I go, empowering other women to pick up that paintbrush and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love it as much today as I ever have.
I chose the shade Natural Stone for this makeover because I wanted a calm, cohesive vibe that enhanced our new garden office but stayed true to the nature around it. I love this stoney neutral because it brings out the beautiful features of the wood, without overpowering it. I wanted fairytale cabin meets calm, modern summerhouse and we got that. It went on a dream and the quality was excellent. I adore it.
