What does the Woodland Trust do

Here are just some of the ways the Woodland Trust uses the generous donations from its members and supporters to help UK woodlands.

Creating

The charity is constantly planting native trees to create new, wildlife-rich woodlands that will benefit us, our climate and the natural world.

Protecting

By acquiring existing woods, the Woodland Trust can bring them into its care and oversee their management to prevent the loss of irreplaceable habitats and carbon stores.

Restoring

It also works hard to bring damaged ancient woods back to life, restoring valuable ecosystems that sustain thousands of wildlife species, some of which are in decline.

Educating

At the same time, the Woodland Trust strives to show the next generation how important nature is for our physical and mental wellbeing.

The Woodland Trust wants to get it closer to the EU average of 37%.

And it’s aiming to get 50 million more in the ground over the next five years.
